Atwell College P&C Association Inc.

The P&C is a vital link between the college, parents, carers, staff and students. As a parent/carer you are entitled to be a member of the Atwell College P&C.

Our Role

The functions of a P&C Association are to:

  • Promote parent participation and involvement in the school;
  • Provide a direct link to the College, Principal, Administration, policies and programs that impact your child.
  • Encourage parents to discuss issues pertaining to the College and its community and for gathering opinions;
  • Provide extra resources for the benefit of government school students.

The P&C is a great way to connect with the school and your child's education as well as meet other parents.

We welcome new members throughout the year and are informal and inclusive. Meetings are attended by the College Principal, who reports on relevant information happening within the College. By participating in meetings, you are able to share in the exchange of ideas, knowledge and information with the College.

Membership is only $1.00.  You can choose to just come along to meetings to keep up-to-date, or volunteer your time in a number of capacities.  Meetings are held regularly throughout the year, the first meeting being an AGM, when all executive committee positions are declared vacant and a new Executive Committee is nominated and voted in. These positions are President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. You are welcome to attend and have a look at a meeting and are under no obligation to join. Becoming a member entitles you to vote on issues and nominate/vote for Executive Committee members.

Meetings commence at 6.00pm and generally last no longer than 1 hour. All meetings are held in the Administration Conference Room.

Fundraising

We are conscious of parents and carers being time poor and do not run an excessive number of fundraising activities or major events.  We do ask that parents and carers assist us to help raise funds via the Voluntary P&C Contributions $15.00 per student which go towards such activities as;

  • Honorariums
  • School programs/tours
  • Beautification/activity projects around the school
  • Graduation activities

It is rewarding to see the benefits spread around the school.
